Evo combines a high-performance storage array with the most extensive connectivity options available in a single product - 4 Gb/s Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet, and (optional) 10 Gb/s Ethernet.
Evo can be a SAN, a NAS, or both at the same time and it’s compatible with leading applications such as Final Cut Pro, Avid and Adobe Premiere Pro.
A standard Evo Base unit ships, half populated, with up to 8 Terabytes of high-throughput storage and accommodates up to six direct-connect Mac and PC clients via 4 Gb/s Fibre Channel and iSCSI over Gigabit Ethernet.
Pre-configuring or upgrading your Evo with more storage and connectivity could not be easier.
In summary - a single Evo supports up to 32TB of raw storage & up to 10 direct connect clients with further clients supported via Fibre & Gigabit Ethernet switches.
Evo integrates a performance SAN and a NAS into one unified system so you get the benefits of both volume locking and file-sharing. By including Fibre Channel, iSCSI and NAS into a single product, Evo assures that your workgroup will have the best tool for every aspect of a project.
Evo also includes features such as advanced disk-provisioning that enables drives to be arranged into storage pools, each capable of containing one or more volumes. Individual volumes can each be assigned a discrete RAID level, meaning the flexibility to choose what matters most: performance, reliability, usable space, or a mix of all three. For the most demanding applications, Evo offers the ability to dedicate any pool’s bandwidth to a specific task such as ingesting video.
Evo is extremely versatile – it will even enable your existing Fibre Channel storage to be bridged, so that it can be extended over Ethernet.
