Wounded Buffalo

Project: Consultancy, technical design, equipment supply and installation

Dates: March 2016

Wounded Buffalo Sound Studios are a major Bristol-based audio posthouse who in 2016 were expanding their businesses and upgrading their facilities for producing documentaries and feature films.

A BBC Centre of Excellence for natural history, they have created audio for many theatrical release feature films over the years, but previously had to finish them in other studios because they didn’t have a large enough facility in-house.

Over the course of a year they transformed a new space at their headquarters into a purpose-built, fully-functioning and certified Dolby Atmos-ready dubbing theatre – the first of its kind outside London.

To fit out their new facility they consulted us extensively - two of our team visited the site on numerous occasions, going the extra mile to research and troubleshoot the best possible solutions for Wounded Buffalo and future-proof their new facility.

We had previously supplied Wounded Buffalo with an Avid S6, and knew that this was once again the best solution for their requirements. We provided them with a fully-equipped Avid mixing console and associated kit tailored to their very specific requirements, honing the spec repeatedly to ensure we were giving them exactly what they needed and no unnecessary equipment.

We carried out the installation of the equipment, testing all elements thoroughly, and providing user training as part of the handover of the kit, as well as continuing to provide ongoing support.
