Virtual Production Studios

Digital Garage have been involved in the design, implementation, installation, commissioning and development of Virtual Production, since before Virtual Production was a common term. From our early work with green screen volumes, then onto motion capture and tracking systems, through to our recent works providing end-to-end virtual production workflows with LED volumes, with live rendered virtual worlds and tracked camera solutions.

Virtual Production is an exciting arena to be involved in and the Digital Garage team are constantly and consistently exploring ways to push boundaries and stay ahead of the curve and provide solutions which ensure optimal performance and remaking at the forefront and leading edge of this forward thinking, boundary pushing era of production.

At Digital Garage, we work with the world’s leading manufacturers and software developers to ensure we can deliver the most current, relevant and production optimised solutions available.

The virtual production world can be a complex environment to unpick and understand due to the vast number of options, lack of standardised workflows and perceived complexity. However, no need to worry, the Digital Garage truly understand the technology and integration opportunities (and limitations) and can help empower you to make informed choices and select the most optimal and appropriate solutions.

Whether it’;s the camera system, the tracking or motion capture, the rendering or processing, we can provide a genuine end-to-end solution, designed, fully installed, integrated, commissioned and supported. We’ll also provide the necessary training and go-live support to give you the confidence in your investment.

Our comprehensive virtual production solutions cover the full end-to-end systems to create a fully operational environment.

Cameras

At the core of any studio is the camera systems and we can supply and integrate cameras of all types and complexity. The cameras solutions we can offer include:

Broadcast camera chains and associated peripherals from Sony, Panasonic and Blackmagic Design.

Digital Film cameras, accessories and grip from Sony, Arri, Red and Blackmagic Design

Pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) camera and control systems from Canon, Panasonic, Sony, BirdDog

Camera robotics and control systems from Polecam, Ross Video,

Camera lenses and control gear and systems from Fujinon, Canon, Sigma, Sony and Lumix

Camera pedestals, tripods and grip from Vinten, BrightTangerine, Manfrotto, Libec and Hague

Camera Battery solutions from IDX, Hawkwoods, Swit

Camera storage and transport from Peli

Camera & Motion Tracking

To enable the required links between the real and virtual worlds, camera tracking solutions are a core and key aspect to any virtual production environment. In addition, the use of motion capture technology is essential and common place, again to provide the control of the virtual from the physical. At Digital Garage, we have significant real world experience of the design, implementation, integration, training and support of camera tracking and motion capture solutions. Our solutions include:

Camera tracking solutions from Vicon, Sony, and Mosys

Motion capture solutions from Vicon, Mosys and Movin

LED Backdrops

The application and use of high performance LED technology for the use of backdrops to create virtual environments has become common place and a genuinely viable option for the filming within a studio environment which would have previously required location work. Over the years we proud to have become specialists in the design supply, rigging and installation of LED walls and ceilings for virtual production use. Of course, it’s not just the LED wall and ceilings that need to be considered. Video wall processing, real time rendering, clocking and digital glue play an integral part to enable virtual production to take place. Here’s a selection of our solutions:

LED video walls and ceilings from Theatrixx, Absen, Leyard, Roe and Sony

Video wall processing from Brompton and Novastar

Rendering and compute solutions from HP, and Nvidia

Digital glue and processing from Blackmagic Design, and AJA Systems

Clocking and synchronisation from Evertz, Blackmagic Design, and Rosendahl

Software

Selecting the software you need for compelling, authentic and believable virtual production can be challenging. Given our knowledge and experience, we are able to propose and select the most appropriate solution for your application.
